Loss of No Claims Bonus

Learn more about Loss of No Claims Bonus Cover with Tennyson the charity insurance experts

This cover is designed to protect employees who use their own car to carry out work for your organisation; it protects them from losing their ‘No Claims’ discount if they are unfortunate enough to have an accident while working for you.

Example

A volunteer driving their personal vehicle whilst acting on behalf of the organisation, has an accident and damages their vehicle. The car needs to be repaired and this is handled by the drivers’ insurer. The driver has to pay the excess and loses his no claims discount. This policy reimburses the driver for the excess and refunds the loss of the no claims discount.

Who needs Loss of No Claims Bonus Insurance?

Organisations allowing members of their staff or their volunteers to use their own vehicles for work activities should consider having this cover.

What does it cover?

This cover protects the drivers personal No Claims Discount if they are driving on behalf of the organisation at the time of an accident.

What does it not cover?

This does not protect the driver when using their car for any personal activities, including commuting to and from their usual place.

This is not a replacement of Motor insurance, which is mandatory by law.

How much cover do I get?

The cover protects you against the loss of the No Claims Discount you currently have and there is no Sum Insured limit.

What might it cost?

Cover starts at £150 for the first 15 employees or volunteers; costs rise thereafter according to the number of staff and volunteers covered.
